FAQs
What's the difference between 25mm and 40mm fabric wrapped acoustic panels?
What's the difference between 25mm and 40mm fabric wrapped acoustic panels?
The thickness determines how much sound the panel absorbs. A 40mm panel is a Class A absorber, meaning it absorbs nearly all the sound that hits it across the speech frequency range — ideal for offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, and any space where speech clarity matters. A 25mm panel (not suitable for ceiling panels) is a Class C absorber, which absorbs around half as much sound. Class C panels are well suited to decorative applications, smaller rooms with less reverberation, or spaces where a slimmer profile is preferred. For most acoustic projects, the 40mm Class A version offers the best performance per pound.
How are fabric wrapped acoustic wall panels installed?
How are fabric wrapped acoustic wall panels installed?
Fabric wrapped panels are designed for fast, straightforward installation. Most can be fitted using contact adhesive spray applied directly to the back of the panel and pressed against a clean wall surface — the lightweight construction means no heavy fixings are needed. Wall spikes are also typically supplied for additional security. For installations where you want the panels to be removable (such as in rented spaces or behind whiteboards), Rotofast Snap-On fixings allow panels to be lifted off and reattached without damage. Full installation instructions and fixings are included with every order.

Can I order fabric wrapped panels in custom sizes?
Can I order fabric wrapped panels in custom sizes?
Yes — most of our SilentSpace fabric wrapped panels are made-to-measure, so you can specify the exact dimensions your space needs rather than trying to make standard sizes work. Custom sizes typically range from 300mm × 300mm minimum up to 3000mm × 1200mm maximum, depending on the shape. For panels that need to be larger than the maximum, our team can supply matching modular sets that align cleanly when installed side by side. Lead times for made-to-measure orders are typically 2–3 weeks
What fabric colours and finishes are available?
What fabric colours and finishes are available?
Our fabric wrapped panels are available in over 100 colours and textures across the Camira Lucia and Sonus ranges as standard, covering bright primaries, muted neutrals, and rich earth tones. For projects with specific design requirements, we can also supply panels wrapped in fabrics from Maharam, Kvadrat, Gabriel, and other premium acoustic fabric specialists on request. Fabric samples are available so you can confirm colour and texture before placing your order.
Where should fabric wrapped acoustic panels be placed for the best effect?
Where should fabric wrapped acoustic panels be placed for the best effect?
Placement depends on the space, but a few guidelines apply. For offices and meeting rooms, panels work best on the wall behind the speaker (in video calls) and on the wall opposite the main reflection points. For larger rooms, distributing panels across multiple walls is more effective than concentrating them in one area. Coverage of around 30–50% of one major wall is usually enough to noticeably reduce reverberation. Our acoustic calculator provides a precise recommendation based on your room dimensions and existing surfaces.
Will fabric wrapped panels block noise from other rooms?
Will fabric wrapped panels block noise from other rooms?
No — fabric wrapped panels are designed to absorb sound within a room, not block sound transmission between rooms. They reduce echo, reverberation, and harshness, which improves speech clarity and acoustic comfort. To block external noise (traffic, neighbours, machinery), you need denser solid-mass solutions like upgraded glazing, acoustic plasterboard, or dedicated soundproofing systems. The two acoustic problems are different and need different solutions, though they're often confused.
Are fabric wrapped acoustic panels durable and easy to clean?
Are fabric wrapped acoustic panels durable and easy to clean?
Yes — the high-density acoustic core inside the panel is impact resistant, and the panels can also be used as a pinnable surface for notes, photographs, or fabric-friendly hooks. The fabric wrap itself can be vacuumed gently with a soft brush attachment, and most fabric finishes can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth. The panels are designed for long-term commercial use, with manufacturers typically rating them for 10+ years of standard interior use.
